Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
If using a bowl to mix, break up the pecans into smaller pieces before mixing with other ingredients.
If using a food processor, combine the pecans, oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water. The mixture should be crumbly.
In another bowl, toss the chopped apples with the lemon juice.
Add the apples to baking dish so they are evenly distributed.
Sprinkle with the crumble mixture and lightly press down.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the apples are soft and the crumble is golden brown.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
Use a glass baking dish if you can. If you don't have one, then line your baking dish with parchment paper. Recommended size is 8" x 8" or equivalent.

Note: Dry ingredients can be mixed ahead of time and placed in the fridge.

Apple cider vinegar can be used instead of lemon juice.

Brown sugar can be replaced with 1/2 cup dates (88 g). Adjust water as needed and use a food processor to combine.
